We just spent an extended weekend in the small country of Moldova. This is where we were originally assigned and we were excited to see the area. Since we are now assigned in Romania, we expected to spend our entire mission here.
The trip was extremely useful and enjoyable. Most importantly, we feel we have received some excellent direction for our work back in Bucharest. We had been searching for direction and are grateful that it came in such a clear way and so soon. We learned about a new program which helps people search for jobs, improve their education and start/grow a business, in a very comfortable yet disciplined environment.
We were also blessed to meet some amazing people who traveled there with the intent of initiating programs and cooperative efforts to help these people improve their lives. These men have been very successful in their personal lives and are now focused on sharing what they have.

Moldova is the poorest country in Europe in economic measures but it is rich in natural beauty. We loved driving through the beautiful countryside and observing the simple way of life. The food was delicious and the people were friendly. They speak Russian and Romanian, but not much English. In our church meetings the speakers alternated between the two languages and the singing was an interesting blend of both.
We enjoyed time with the two couples assigned in Moldova. One is working on humanitarian projects (clean water delivery, wheelchairs, school improvements and providing containers filled with clothing, hygiene kits or food). The other couple is working with the young single adults. They are doing much good and graciously provided us transportation and great meals.
